Oxford International Education Group has been acquired by THI Investments, an education private equity investor.
The group will sell its schools division – comprising Oxford International College, d’Overbroeck’s and Oxford Sixth Form College – to instead focus on increasing its investment in online education, university partnerships and language education.
The three independent schools will be acquired by international schools provider, Nord Anglia Education, and formally integrated into the group on 31 March 2021.
Short-term course provider for students aged 10-18, Bucksmore Education, will also join Nord Anglia. The agreement also marks the exit for Oxford International’s previous investor, Bowmark Capital.

The deal brings the total number of schools in Nord Anglia to 73 in 30 countries. It also adds another 1,100 students to an aggregate of 67,000, each with access to Nord Anglia’s Global Campus, an online learning platform connecting them to peers around the world.

The schools’ 200 teachers will benefit from Nord Anglia’s professional development programme. This includes online learning through Nord Anglia University, training programmes with MIT and Juilliard, and Nord Anglia’s Master’s Degree in international education with King’s College London.
